If your systolic pressure falls between 120 and 139 and your diastolic pressure falls between 80 and 89, you are already in the pre-hypertension stage. You have to be more careful with what you are eating. If you do not want it to progress to the hypertension stage, you need to eat healthier and incorporate a more active lifestyle.
Stage 1 hypertension has systolic pressure of 140 to 159 and diastolic pressure of 90 to 99. Observe your condition for a half a year and make sure you change your habits. Avoid alcohol, fatty and salty foods and have an active lifestyle. If your measured pressure of blood does not dramatically change after that, you can ask your doctor to prescribe you with some medications.
Stage 2 hypertension is obviously the most severe case. Systolic pressure can go as high as 160or more and diastolic can get as high as 100 or more.
